Industrial Steering Products, Inc. (ISP) is a woman owned small
business and was founded in August of 1980 when Saginaw Steering
Gear, a division of General Motors, divested itself from their
pitman arm manufacturing. In the beginning, we produced both
small and large pitman arms and ball studs for automobiles,
material handling equipment, motor homes, and heavy trucks.
Vehicular steering systems have transformed greatly over the
years from using steering gears and pitman arms to using rack
and pinion systems.

As the steering industry transformed, ISP focused on
the heavy truck steering market expanding operations, production
techniques, and products to improve our manufacturing knowledge and
capabilities. We began producing sway-bar clamps, tie rod ends, and drag
links in addition to pitman arms and ball studs. During the first 20
years we grew from 2 to 16 employees. Our
largest growth surge began in 2001 when we diversified into the
fabrication industry adding laser cutting, robotic welding, and forming
to our machining services. With a complete manufacturing operation we
can nearly make anything from steel, aluminum or other steel alloys.
Since diversifying in 2001, we have
doubled in size and now have a workforce of 40+ employees. Additionally,
to better market our new services and we began doing business as both
Industrial Steering Products and Laser Technologies in late 2003.
